    Millipede dilemma

Hello there, I'm no expert but I saw your thread and fig I'd throw in my experience. At one point I owned Ivories, Flame-legs, and a Bumblebee simultaneously. The ivories and flame-legs spend a lot of time on the surface, but the bumblebee millipede spends most his time underground. When they...

    R.I.P. Flameleg :(

Hey guys, I bought a pair of Trigoniulus macropygus in June of 2018. They turned out to be male and female, and last year she layed over 70 eggs. The past few days she had been curled up around the water dish, and this morning she was completely limp (dead). I know they have short lifespans but...

I have Flameleg babies, please help!

Hello gang, I recently discovered my two Trigoniulus macropygus mating, and through some research on this board, have been able to identify 5 eggs on top of the substrate. I am somewhat new to millipede keeping, and I have a few major concerns. I buy my substrate online and have never replaced...

    Ivory Pedelings - Conflicting Info?

I plan on adding a few male Ivories to my setup in hopes of breeding, but will my fully grown desert or bumblebee mils eat the pedelings? Do I need to set up a separate tank, or has anybody even heard of millipedes eating younger ones?

    Questions about millipede care

I use a side heat mat and put a little water dish filled with water next to it to keep the humidity up. I would use filtered or spring water, you could buy a gallon jug and it would last forever. Throw some pebbles in the water dish in case you have any babies, that way they don't drown.

How long before I can declare millipedes dead?

I had a similar problem with my bumblebee, and I used Pangea Watermelon gecko food because I heard 'pedes find it irresistible. Sure enough, I saw him munching on it within 24 hrs. My advice is to try that (it's about $8) and go ahead and add your new residents. I wouldn't dig or poke around too...

Why do my millipedes keep dying?

Yea same here, isn't it great substrate? It sounds like you are on top of it, I have a little water cup next to a side heat mat that keeps it nice and humid, I noticed mine became much more active after that. I only have one bumblebee though, and I very rarely see him. I've read that BB's stay...

Why do my millipedes keep dying?

I'm new to it too, but in my experience wild caught ones die more quickly than captive bred. They might have been near the end of their time anyway. I buy substrate online for 18 bucks which gets me 3 pounds of substrate and some extras. It smells so fresh and looks so nutritious, it's the only...

    A gigas and Flame legs.

I think it will be fine since they are both tropical and have similar temperature requirements but I would definitely watch closely at first due to the massive size difference. I've never kept gigas but my flamelegs are housed with ivories and they seem okay. Keep us updated because I plan to...

Millipede at top corner of tank

My tank is the same with the silicone in the corners, and they climb up it all the time. I put a branch in there to help them get back down but sometimes they just drop with a soft thump. My plastic wrap completely seals the mesh so it's nearly airtight, but I make sure I open it for a few...

    Bumblebee millipede price?

All the bumblebees I've seen are an average of 10 dollars. I'd say with the critter keeper that's a decent deal. Millipedes make great easy pets, bumblebees tend to stay under the dirt a little more from what I've noticed.

    Frozen substrate for extended period?

If I am storing millipede substrate in a freezer until I get my next enclosure setup, is there any harm in leaving it frozen for an extended length of time?
