Welcome back, Boina:) You helped me 3 years ago when I hadn't gotten any T's yet by answering my questions. I remembered when I saw the badass spider icon, so thank you for bringing me into the hobby:cool: My G. pulchripes fasted the longest, 9 Months in her hide with a mountain of substrate in...
I keep my T's in bigger enclosures then what seems to be the norm here. Some don't need it, but others like to take a stroll some days. I also enjoy seeing them hunt a bit. I just feel like they should have room to walk and explore since they are stuck in boxes all their lives. That said, I'm...
They act so shy after the molt. Mine is named Pouncy, cause she normally pounces onto everything that enters the enclosure. She recently molted and is very into spider yoga and shyly retreating now. Opposite world. I hope she's back to the old ways soon.
My adult A. geniculata is one of my most active T's, she has 60X40 cm of floor space and she changes location 2 times a day sometimes. She's either on the ground on a slope I made with Cork bark or on top of her hide^^ but yeah, them exploring all nooks and crannies after a rehouse is normal.

I've gotten positive and negative reactions.
My mum is my landlord, so I had to convince her first. She went from "they could kill you" to "Aww, this tiny one is cute" and "I've seen people on the internet cuddle their t, why can't I cuddle yours?"
My Bf went from "This is your creepy thing" to...
Here is mine. I've heard and read here that some people's are bulldozers, but mine is very chill. Leaves all her decorations alone, only walks through her water dish occasionally^^ She's 17 cm dls when she's all stretched out and in a 60x40x30 cm enclosure
I could be wrong. I only know that they did threat poses every time I opened the enclosure in the first few weeks, and now they do not. This could have other reasons, maybe they were just super stressed before.
Being less shy or scared. When the T's arrive in a new environment they are often scared of the light and vibrations sitting all scrunched up. When they eat normally, and don't get all scared or defensive each time you change the water. Though I only have NW's, and don't know if there are OW's...
I like building the enclosures. I like watching them walk about slowly, exploring, and I like when they are comfortable in their enclosure and have picked a favorite spot where they sit most of the time. And I love the stand-offs they have with Dubia roaches, waiting, watching as the T places...
Same story as many people here. I was scared of spiders, it was disruptive and unhealthy. Forced myself to watch them to get over it. Found Tarantula channels on YouTube. There are still some species of spider I find creepy, but I can put them in a glass and set them outside now.
Got a few...
Oh cool, thank you, I thought they would just darken more and more each molt if they are male. I will just have to wait for the net molt then, and hope that I get to it before the T does^^
Hey, so this one darkened up since the last molt (which it unfortunately ripped apart and decorated its burrow with) and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the darkening pattern or the species and could tell me if it looks like a male or female?
I still don't think there are that many people in the hobby jet. I'm based in Germany and most T people I see on social media are from the UK or America. I've been to a convention here and it was kind of crazy that there are this many people interested in it, but it still wasn't that big of a...
She is out and turned right way again, she's doing the after molt stretches. Thank you all for your help.
My oldest T is a G.pulchripes and she took only four hours to molt last time, I had no idea it cold take 10 hours for them to molt.
Not a heatlamp, just a red light so I could take a Pic without disturbing her. She's at room temp. Thank you for the answers I'll continue to leave her be then.
