Avic sling keeps falling off enclosure walls???

Pics of enclosure please ASAP. But I feel your pain. When in pre-moult have found my avics to do exactly as you say. I.e be skittish crazy buggers. Also a pic of your T's Abdomen? Am guessing it's large? (one of my first avics fell a few times almost drove me insane with worry). P.s removing...

Well if they are supplied by Jamies I'd have said ok. But otherwise I wouldnt use silk plants. (i.e plastic unless from a trusted source). Re Isopods to be honest you dont need them. Tarantulas dont eat them and yeah they can get into nooks and crannies. They like moisture n decaying stuff like...

Well some people are of course idiots. So just because one person gets bit doesnt mean all people who get OBT's quick into the hobby are the same. I was a month in or so. (moulted once). No probs. Although will see as he/she gets bigger. Am investing in a proper sized container to do some more...

I think you are blowing this out of proportion. I have tong fed countless times. But if you dont want to do it that's fine. With a lot of mine you can just drop the food nearby. I know what am doing and trust me if I felt I was putting my T at risk I wouldnt do it. Anyways not something the OP...

Hey trenor I have some of those bigger boxes in your pic. Beware there's a gap down the sides in mine and some have warped. Just a heads up. Mine were from the reallyusefullbox company so perhaps your's are a better design/diff company. And I did hear of someone losing a centipede this way...

Someone on here mentioned monopoly hotels. Working for my B.Smithi so far. (only one I use it for as it's still tiny).

Well mine hasnt been as fast as my OBT. Less skittish in general hence why I said it was a better introduction to OW's perhaps. That's my opinion after owning them. Perhaps it will change. I certainly approach all "baboons" with the same husbandry style. I.e be prepared for anything. But yeah I...

I use a soldering iron. Check out soup containers in supermarket. 32oz or smaller ideal. I even used a peanut butter jar. Clean everything thoroughly even fake plants. I do three lines small holes x vent and a few in the top. Use Acyrlic glue to stick on some cork bark to sides (so they stick...

I wouldnt get an OBT unless you have somewhere thats safe and have a catch cup ready and are prepared for it climbing up your arm. Am actually going to buy a big plastic box (will use as an enclosure at some point) and most likely do rehousing in the bath! Just for my OBT when it needs to be...

Not sure I agree about the Tong part there. Been feeding my avics and others fine using this method. You have to present the cricket right though! Although if you want to be on the safe side by all means. I actually was thinking about getting some tongs that perhaps have a softer end.

Well transfer to enclosure went well. Dropped a cricket in and bang..pounced on. Overnight it threw up a burrow under the cork I provided. So far so good. Will feed and hopefully get on film tomorrow with my other new additions. I am generally not expecting to see it much but then am used to...

    Sling Feeding?

My amazonicas have been similar. Now have braunshesheni+versi+metallica to try as well. Although it does seem to get easier after two moults... If you want a good feeder also try a T. Lagunas if you havent got one. You wont be disappointed. Also blue fangs so far been pretty good. Just beware...

    Sling Feeding?

Well the Op was saying "safe then sorry" so I was just wondering why he/she would think livefood was unsafe. We all know that feeding your T's silly prey items is a risk and when it's in pre-moult etc. I found avics can def be a bit fussy when it comes to size and my OBT seems not to care in...

    Sling Feeding?

Sorry I should have clarified what I meant. I didnt mean larger as in larger and perhaps safe. I meant larger as was dangerous. (if you look up at the start we were talking about what is "safe".) But to be picky yes at the moment I tend to feed smaller or same size. That's not to say none of...

    Sling Feeding?

Well I quite like them in the sling stage, dont find it boring at all but then it's all new to me. I'd like them all a bit bigger before Winter. Ideally. I'd say mine are around the month mark in between moults + or _. My own personal feeling is that powerfeeding might be possible if your...

    Sling Feeding?

Any reason why you would want to fatten them up as quick as possible? (I read some people try and do this "powerfeeding". Sounds like some kind of World of Warcraft powerlevelling or something ha) And whether it's one meal or a few dont think it matters. I think though the overall heat does...

    Sling Feeding?

Sure the most important thing is they are being fed. Just thought it a bit strange that someone wasnt using livefood. I mean for sure if you live out in the stixx as it were.... So far I used some mealworms at the start but switched to crickets (brown n black). My current black ones have got...
