Which tarantulas do you see yourself never owning?

You know, that's what I would have thought, but apparently one black spider with a reddish bum as the same as all the others so. No point in owning a P. antinous or a G. iheringi when you have the cheaper B. vagans option. Even if the antinous and iheringi both get much larger and...

    A good defense against mold

Not to mention that I experience substrate falling out whenever I fill a new ventilated enclosure too much. I don't want dirt and water all over the place. That's how you get mud. But yes I've done a line of holes near the top, just above the substrate, and then a couple (usually in a circular...

Beginner - dropped tarantula - inactive

To extrapolate, and forgive me if this was mentioned earlier because I didn't read through all the responses, feeding a T with fangs that haven't hardened can result in the T bending or otherwise damaging their fangs. Without fangs they have a very hard time subduing prey and feeding themselves...

Beginner - dropped tarantula - inactive

Bleeding is only a problem if it is on the carapace or the abdomen. If one of the legs are bleeding then it is best to let the tarantula sort it out. The T can cut off blood flow to the leg itself, and drop the leg if need be.

This is what I do. I disappear for a while and return specifically so people will tell me how much they missed me. It is the only time I feel alive.

    Fungus problem C marshalli

Agreed, I'd just keep an eye on it. If it doesn't go away by itself or gets worse then you might want to consider a rehouse, but until then not a huge deal.

Beginner - dropped tarantula - inactive

If the T doesn't appear to be bleeding, I'd leave her be. These creatures aren't like dogs that need to eat all the time. Letting her settle in for a week before trying again won't hurt her at all. Keep her water dish filled and don't poke at her anymore. You added more substrate, which was the...

    Dolicothele Diamantinensis sexual dimorphism

Agreed with @boina. Tarantulas aren't carbon copies. Anyone who's raised a sac of slings can tell you that. Despite being kept with the same conditions and despite being from the same sac, their growth rate and maturity is far from uniform.

    Help with "pet hole"

I've heard of multiple people with P. muticus specimens that do the same thing. It seems like they can be a bit 'stupid' to the point of killing themselves.

Need some help with my rose hair

I'm trying to feel less white hot rage in my life, you know how it is. Nice to see you too though! At the rate my country is spiraling, I'll be seeking asylum under your porch any day now. If you don't have a porch, please build one. Preferably with a hot tub under it.

    Got any tarantula jokes?

Did you hear about the nine-legged T who won best in show at the British Tarantula Society's annual competition? He had a leg up on the competition.

    1 Quick Question ?

People can study all they want, but the only way to know without a doubt that they're right is to have experienced it first hand. Even then, we can see in our own modern languages how people can pronounce words with variation based on demographics or even their own anatomy. Doubtless there were...

    Escaped Poecilotheria

Aw you clopped all the way back here to tell me you missed me? I'm touched. ;) That's not a totally fair comparison though! Eating a flavor of ice cream doesn't directly correlate to skill in a hobby. It has to do with personal preference rather than personal responsibility.

Is this enclosure still a good size? Or should I upgrade him?

It's gonna be subjective what answers you get. Personally, I'd say rehouse. Better safe than sorry right? With GBBS, given their semi-arboreal nature, you can get away with tossing them (Figuratively. Don't really toss your tarantula please.) into a much larger enclosure and they do just fine...
