Fear Not Tarantulas

I ordered two slings from FNT. It took almost a month for them to be delivered and I was patient because it was due to weather concerns. But upon arrival one of the vials only contained moss. After contacting customer service they responded by treating me like a moron, saying that the tarantula is for sure there and saying I should've followed procedures that I already followed IE unpacking over a bowl, using a bright light to see the tarantula, keeping the contents of the vial. They also said that most customers with this issue find their tarantula in the moss the next day. I had stated in my original email that I would follow up in a couple days on whether or not it showed up. They were the ones that decided to respond right away on their personal time even though I mentioned that I understood that they weren't open and could contact me when they opened in four days. (Side note: what kind of schedule is Sat-tues? Can't be Mon-Fri like normal people?) They then asked for proof of lack of tarantula, which I provided a video. Their only response was that I shouldn't be so rough with the tongs. I ALREADY SIFTED THROUGH IT FOR A HALF AN HOUR UNDER MY EXTREMELY BRIGHT HEADLAMP, THERE ISN'T ANY TARANTULAS IN THE MOSS TO BE WORRIED ABOUT. Then they proceeded to point out that the package wasn't picked up within two hours. I explained that I was at work at time of delivery and had no ability to pick it up. Their only response was "wE cAn puT a dIffeRenT NaMe on thE labEl"
Whether or not I received my tarantula is neither here nor there. But it is the customer service response that irked me. You are selling a product that costed you next to nothing. How hard is it to just right the wrong and secure a future customer. Instead you preach your policies that are nigh impossible for the average working American to abide by.

Our T arrived a full week late and died, despite everyone ON OUR SIDE, doing everything as instructed, in less than 18 hours!!!

They have a "30 day gurantee," however, instead of owning their series of mistakes and deliberate damaging actions they would rather paint the victims as the perpetrators (see below)....

THEIR LATEST REPONSE WAS TO BLAME ME BECAUSE I STARTED SHAKING AFTER A WEEK OF DRAMA WHEN I FOUND OUR T DEAD!!! THEY ARE PUT OUT BECAUSE I WONT CODDLE THEM!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! RUN!!!

I have reported them to BBB and Atty General they refuse to correct the
Nightmare
THEY CREATED AND PERPETUATE IN THEIR ACTS CAUSING DAILY, CONTINUED DAMAGES TO OUR FAMILY!!

I was sent smaller than advertised spiders from FearNot
They asked me to send photos and kept changing the requirements for the photos as we went along.
I had been clearly sent sizes smaller than advertised and they refused to do anything for me dispite the photos I sent.
In the end: they expected me to stretch the 1/4 slings legs do they can get a proper measurement.
Really stetch a 1/4 inch slings legs.
They ask for a picture then keep asking for different things that get more and more ridiculous before they say that is the size they sent.
I feel ripped off
Also for the $50 I paid for shipping I think they could have put in a couple of heat pads in the box which was very poorly packaged.
Order with extreme caution from this vendor

Got a great looking T. Blondi from Tanya at FearNotTarantulas, the packing was great, the spider was exactly the size she said it was. They had great pre-sales info as well.

Will definitely buy again!

I had been eying the Theraphosinae sp. "Panama" slings they had for sale, but I couldn't quite justify spending that amount of money. There was a 20% "tarantula appreciation day" sale, so I pulled the trigger. I selected Kochiana brunnipes as my freebie, because I like dwarf tarantulas.

I was a little disappointed that they couldn't ship to my house -- the nearest FedEx center is about 30-45 minutes away -- but I understand they want to avoid a situation where spiders are left unattended in the heat. (The local heat and humidity are oppressive in the summer.)

When I returned home from FedEx today, I unboxed my slings. The packaging was very good -- amply padded and still cool. The unpacking instructions were a nice touch, although I personally did not need them, as I am an experienced keeper.

The slings were lively, and they promptly began exploring their new homes. Currently, both are feasting on diced mealworm.

I'm amazed with how well my purchasing experience was with fearnottarantulas. From the second that I bought it, the staff were quick to inform and confirm of such - explaining the steps of packaging and quickly making sure I had wanted what I purchased (GBB sling, $65 + $45 shipping). The sling arrived packaged very carefully, healthy, and quick to acclimate. It is clear their animals are treated with care. I'm no paid reviewer, this is coming from an average Joe - I sincerely recommend purchasing from this dealer.

I purchased 2 slings and also got a freebie. One of the purchased slings had been very sluggish out of the box but ate a couple times before it flipped over to molt, never actually started molting, and died within the 30 day live guarantee policy. I had to send over some pictures, and they agreed to replace the spider. The 2nd spider I received is MUCH more lively (yep, it bolted) and I have no worries about this one. I absolutely would purchase from Fear Not again. Their 30 day policy really saved me some heartache and they didn't make it difficult for me to follow up on it.

I have placed 3 orders in the last few months with Fear Not Tarantulas and all three times have gone very smoothly. Their packaging is excellent and the T’s always come in very active!! They are very professional and are fast to reply with emails/calls!! Not many Dealers will call to make sure everything arrivals in great shape. They have become one of my favorite dealers to order from. Thanks again guys!! YOU GUYS ROCK!

I've placed orders four or five times from FNT over the past year and every single time, they really knock it out of the park. Tanya's fantastic, her team is great, and the selection is amazing.

Most recently I picked up a Hapalotremus albipes, a Cardiopelma mascatum, A Dolichothele diamantinensis, and picked another Neischnocolus sp. ami freebie. I added a Sahydroaraneus raja to my order a week later when it became available in a shipment, and I love that I can add to my order up until 24 hours before shipping.

The shipping packaging is always fantastic and the individual spiders arrive in solid drams. The shipping is amazing for the price, and I receive updates all along the process. All spiderlings arrived healthy and were rehoused immediately.

The H albipes is amazing, very active, and has already molted. I love it! The Sahydroaraneus raja was on my unicorn list, and it's a spunky little thing that made itself at home immediately and molted last night. The other three are also doing great.

This was my second purchase from Fear Not, and both times have been excellent and smooth experiences. Communication with their shipping coordinator BJ was clear and effective when I asked for shipment to be delayed a week due to being out of state on vacation, and the terms and conditions of the purchase transaction were crystal clear from start to finish. Ended up with three beautiful new slings happily settling into their new homes.

Bonus: Fear Not's Freebie offerings are awesome! I always check what they have available as freebies, and if there's something I really really want I'll try to build my order around that.

The selection was amazing and the prices usually just below the normal market price. The packaging was great and the specimens clearly labeled with professional, printed labels (not shorthand drawn on by sharpies). The customer service was phenomenal with clear communication once order was placed with an emailed receipt followed by emails explaining when the item was shipping, what to expect, and how to prepare. Then confirmation the item has shipping followed with tracking info. Any and all questions were answered in a timely manner and with enthusiasm. The tarantulas were delivered on time, alive, healthy, and a little larger than i had expected. I ordered 15 tarantulas on this last order but have ordered from them multiple times in the past. After my first order with Fear Not I had such an exceptional experience, compared to other dealers I have dealt with in the past, that now Fear Not Tarantulas is the only dealer I will use. No headaches, no worries, no issues...theyre transparent, friendly, professional, helpful, and trustworthy. They are the ONLY dealers I ever recomend.

Got 8 slings alive and well! Tanya responded quick to my questions and packaged everything every securely.

Tanya goes above and beyond every single time. She will do a lot to make you happy, and she has beautiful Ts and uses superb shipping supplies. She has very lenient terms of service and DOA guarantee, but with how well she packs the Ts into their vials, they would probably last a few days and be fine. I wish she had a bigger selection. She sells every common T for much less than anywhere else, and she does have rarer Ts, but her selection is not as large as some other places. Overall, her site is the first place I look when I want more Ts, and is more often than not the only place I purchase from. I have purchased over 20 Ts from her, each better than the last.

We hit a bit of a snag with shipping. The temps were so hot they were unable to ship directly to my house and I had to drive quite a ways to get to the closet fedex pickup place. The Ts were packaged very well and there was no other issues. Over all I was very pleased with this purchase.
