Just a normal terrestrial setup is perfect for them. Same setup you'd use for Brachys and Aphonopelmas, etc.
I do overfill the water here and there but she doesn't seem to care whether I do that or not.
She is one of the calmest Ts that I have, never kicks hairs or threat poses, never bolts. I prefer not to handle my Ts but she is probably one I could handle if I wanted to. I'd highly recommend the Cajamarca and I'd also highly recommend T. Cyaneolum and T. Sp.blue. All of my Thrixopelmas are pretty great.

I just ordered one after reading your comment! I know every T has its own personality, but seems like a really cool lesser known species. Have you had yours since she was a sling or did you get her as an adult. Curious about growth rate, but assuming they're probably similar to the other Thrixopelmas in that regard.

Awesome! Glad you took a chance and ordered one!!! I've had mine since she was a juvenile, I think I've had her around 2 years. Someone was downsizing and knew I'd actually ordered a Cajamarca a couple of times and one came as wrong species, and two others from someone else came in dead, so I was really sad. This nice gal knew I wanted one and let me have her for the cost of shipping. Recently slings have been popping up here and there, it's cool!!! My Cajamarca (her name is Clarice lol) actually grows fairly fast, shorter premolts than the other Thrixopelmas I have.

I may add another to my order. I've never raised a sling, but I really want to be successful and I have put in a ton of research and spoken with Tom (tomsbigspiders) for advice as well. I'm looking forward to the experience!

Nope she doesn't use her hide or burrow at all, but as a sling I'm not sure if they do or not. Most likely they do. Lol
If you have a choice to add another sling, check into Thrixopelma Cyaneolum or Thrixopelma sp. Blue. Both are amazing (and very similar to eachother) species. Well worth the buy. Slings are really easy to raise!!!
