That is a wolf spider. A big one at that.

Man I didn’t even think it could be that because it’s at least 2.5in DLS maybe even around 3in DLS

Wolf spiders get pretty big here in Texas. I found a male in my house a few months ago and he was about 2 to 2.5 inches dls

H. carolinensis can get to 4 inches in DLS.

They can vary largely in color, size and attitude. The biggest one I found was 3.95 inches and the smallest was only 2.7 inches (Both were adult females as they both carried eggsaccs.)

This one is a very faded female H. carolinensis (Carolina wolf spider)
