Texas Wolf spider

Found this, what I’m assuming is female because of the egg sack stuck to it, out right outside my porch this morning. It’s really muddy maybe left it’s burrow because we got a lot of rain yesterday here in Texas, night have gotten flooded out
Wolf spiders get pretty big here in Texas. I found a male in my house a few months ago and he was about 2 to 2.5 inches dls

H. carolinensis can get to 4 inches in DLS.

They can vary largely in color, size and attitude. The biggest one I found was 3.95 inches and the smallest was only 2.7 inches (Both were adult females as they both carried eggsaccs.)

This one is a very faded female H. carolinensis (Carolina wolf spider)
