This is my first T, and I'm absolutely as enthralled as I knew I would be!!
This little one has already eaten 3 different times for me in the week that I've had him. He had molted the day before bringing him home. So far very calm and not very skittish, and definitely a bulldozer!
Congratulations , before you know it you'll have alot more , I got 1 about 20 months ago, was only getting one, only needed to get 1..... now I have 60 t's n 7 true spiders they are extremely addictive but just for future reference your little floofer only needs fed once a week, he will take food as often as given but you will end up with a very fat t that is in premoult for months , I was always told you want to keep the abdomen (butt ) a little larger than the carapace (head) to keep your t healthy and reduce the risk of fall damage if he decides to go up on the roof n fall off .(He will at some point they all do when exploring their new space) he looks great though , very handsome
Also welcome to our little community

Thank you for this information! I haven't fed him any more since the 3rd time, so I'll wait until maybe next week to start feeding again on a regular weekly basis. I was thinking for some reason that he was still small enough that I needed to offer food frequently, like with slings haha... But he only had 3 very small dubias (I'm still trying to work out the right size feeders so I opted for smaller), I will back off feeding for now until next week
And I am definitely looking into more Ts already I really, really wanted a T. albo to start with, but the weather has been too cold for shipping and I happened to see this little guy while I was at the pet store, so here we are
I'm still very much looking forward to getting a T. albo, as well as a GBB and a few different dwarfs like hapolopus sp. Columbia... But forcing myself to wait until I've gotten adjusted with my first one haha!

If your little one is over 2/2.5 inches he only needs once a week anything smaller twice a week, and I go by carapace size for food size. You want something the same width as his carapace he could take bigger but no point in him having to struggle with his food so carapace size is spot on and the goal is to keep his abdomen slightly bigger than his carapace any bigger and they become a fall risk to theirselfs, with slings its OK but over 2 inch n I start watching abdomen size. Better safe than sorry.
I keep all 3 locals of albop so I can fully understand wanting one or 3 they are so super cute with their floof n good eaters but I recommend getting a Nicaraguan or ometepe they are out all the time where my Honduran spends 90% of her time in her burrow, gbb are great eaters but are skittish and fast Bauble my gbb is always out on display but panics when I touch her viv bolts like a mad thing, I would definitely leave the gbb till you have done a few rehousings and are more comfortable with bolts and stubborn t's I kept 20 other sp before I got to a gbb just purely because of their speed. I also keep a few dwarf sp 7 I think so far the Kochiana brunnipes is my favourite they are super cute and super laid bk, they usually dig although my female decided to web instead made a web castle like a gbb, its quite amazing. If you click on my pic and go into my uploads you'll see my baby's and their creations and if you ever need info on any t pm me n if I know anything about the species I will be more than happy to help out I hope the weather changes for you soon so you can continue on your t quest good luck with your little dude n anymore floofers you get along the way
