My G. Rosea had not eaten in a month and a half so I thought she was in premolt. I was excited.....than today I dropped a meal worm in and sure enough she eats it! Stop confusing me I said to her LOL
They are notorious for fasting. As an arid species, they get full/plump quite easy and will refuse food when fed often. The more regularly you feed them, the more regularly they will fast for long periods of time. They do this as food isn't as available regularly in their habitat in the wild.
I agree that 6 months is little time compared to most adults. My Craigs last fast was 14 months. I thought she wouldnt make her next molt... I was wrong
@EulersK Yes I have heard they can fast for a long time when they are a adult. But she is only a year and a half old so I was not considering her an adult just yet. She is only 3 and a half leg span. I thought when an adult the females are around 5 or 6 inch leg span. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@BCspiderman7 If your porteri is 3.5" then she will more than likely be more than a year and a half old. Even porteri spiderlings will fast then eat before going into premoult. So your juv will probably be doing the same.
