For sale in lps as "rainforest ornamental tarantula" approx 4.5 - 5" dls.
Never heard that common name before.... new to me. Not sure the ID on it though

That's quite hard to ID since it's quite dark and there is no ventral shots of this T. at all. Pokies have unique ventral or more specifically leg patterns on the underside that makes them more easier to be distinguishable rather than relying on the dorsal/upper side.

Yeah, it's clearly some random made up common name or stupid combination of other names, my boy thinks P. ornata, I was thinking regalis but he insists it's too dark to be regalis... Hoping for some experienced eyes.

Unfortunately no opportunity for ventral shots. My son wants to add it to his collection (would be our 3rd pokie), but I was hoping to get some idea of species first, to try to gauge whether the asking price is fair or not. Thanks for the feedback though.

definitely a pet store made up name to make it sounds cooler!
Yeah at first I thought it might be regalis but then it looked really dark so I’m not sure.

How much are they asking for?

That's a hard call, but if it's female it certainly is worth the risk. But then again it's your call.
No sex data available, no history, no contact with breeder, and s/he wasn't giving us any ventral view, so can't even look for dot... Would be a total gamble, but I'm thinking given the shop owner's commentary and reaction to us even asking about it "why would anyone want something like this in their house?" ... "I just want it sold" I think he'd take 75-80$ for it...
