I think balfori is very beautiful.. but it is diffilcult to distingish sex..
Please help me !
What's the DLS on this specimen? If it's already a sub-adult you can easily tell by the sexual dimorphism; males have a far darker blue carapace than females given that they haven't just molted. At least that's how I sexed mine as a female (it's almost a light sky blue in natural light). Judging from this ventral shot it appears female to me, as I've gotten a lot of looks at the gonoslit on mine and that's a pretty pronounced curve. As long as that dark circle right above the epigastric furrow is just a droplet of water casting a shadow on the specimen, it's looking very female from here :)
