Quite a rare species. This is the only centipede that has bitten me to date. It was so meek and timid I was convinced it wouldn't bite, so picked it no problem. But then I over did it trying to get a photo. It panicked and bit me and has been an aggressive little bugger since.
@alfiebass34 well firstly I now think this was a S.cingulata, not S.dalmatica, and secondly this one died because I kept it badly. It was in a very tall jar, with no lid, which you'd think allows plenty of air circulation, but it doesn't. The air gets stagnant at the bottom, where the centipede stays, and it got shovelling syndrome, which I suspect is internal mycosis.
So the answer to how you keep these is: dry, and with sufficient ventilation. They are Mediterranean so they will handle a cool winter, and hot summer.
