@cold blood I did, and he was not happy. He attacked the water and then climbed up the side of his enclosure.
@PeteParker240 I think Acanthoscurria geniculata is doable for new keepers who do not intend to handle them at all. They are not really aggressive so much as very enthusiastic about food. Anything that moves in the enclosure is likely to be attacked. Their hairs are moderately bad, but so far mine is not inclined to flick them in defense.
If you are a new keeper, I would start with a sling. They grow pretty fast and get their adult coloring early, so it won't take long to have a nice-looking spider. Immediately having a 7" spider that thinks everything is food could be a bit intimidating for a brand new keeper.
@Ungoliant ....yeah. 7" is pretty intimidating, lol. And I have ZERO intention of handling it. I plan on being a hands off type of keeper unless absolutely needed. But I love the stripes...truly a beautiful species.
