Pre-molt?

Pre-molt?

I'm still very new to understanding pre-molt...does Cocoa Muffin (purported G. Pulchripes) look like he is ready to "pop" (molt)? He ate a cricket about 1 1/2 weeks ago but his abdomen looks very black.
I'd say so.

I named my A. Chalcodes sling Cocoa.

I'm willing to bet there are at least 100 tarantulas on earth named Cocoa.

Oh heck yeah. That T is definitely in premolt! Give her enough substrate to burrow into. She'll do her spidey thing.

It looks like a sling in premolt that's asking for more substrate.

Put in two to three times the amount of substrate you have now. Now pictures can misrepresent, but the substrate also looks like a swamp. It should be damp, not wet. Wait until a week or so after the molt before making any changes, of course.
