Out for the Season
Mixed Saturniids, just taken out from cold storage for eclosure in a few weeks. I removed them from their cocoons 1) to sex them, and 2) because I noticed some mold on a few of the cocoons, so I needed to check that they weren't affected by it. I had one loss
@Nightstalker47 Well then it's a good thing they're moths :p

They're definitely not for everybody, and their adult lifespan is depressing (iirc my longest lived one last year was just under 2 weeks), but I just can't say no to these giant fluffballs with pretty wings

@PidderPeets Interesting critters nonetheless. Im sure its fun to watch them undergo that transformation.

I don't think the mods liked my joke lol...there goes my comment. Maybe I was just talking about kitty cats though... :rolleyes:

@Nightstalker47 I kinda figured they would remove it, or at least change the word to "losers" or something similar. :rofl:

Or if you wanted to go waaaay more in-depth about it, maybe you meant it as a nickname for puss caterpillars (Megalopyge opercularis), which are extremely painful to touch and therefore hardcore and brutal, so what you really meant was that butterflies were for awesome, hardcore, brutal people :cool: :rofl:
