Personally I am NOT a fan of holes in the top of the cover it lets too much humidity out I prefer holes in the side of the deli cup for cross ventilation my a. Versicolor seems to enjoy it as well other than that yours looks very happy just my opinion
I have a 1 gallon cereal container with TONS of holes in the sides for when the little girl ( I think) gets bigger. this is the best I can do for now though. I went to put holes in the sides of this but my mother saw me with a nail over the stove and lost it. my girl seems pretty happy though, judging from the multitude of webs she has made and then moved for the past three days, and the pair of crickets in her web.
No, this isn't the best you can do. Chances are your sling will not last long in kept in there. Remove the top, and replace it with a nice new, hole free lid and use that. For side ventilation, don't freak out mom, there is NO reason to be using the stove (I'd have freaked on you, too). Use a tack or pin and push it through in circles around the top half of the deli cup. Go back through the small holes with a toothpick, this will give you nice, even holes.
When you put the t back in, add a flat piece of wood for the t to sprawl out on, the put the plant aside it and your enclosure will be much better. I'd also bury that kind of water dish about halfway, this will prevent it from tipping when the t crawls onto it. I'd suggest just using a cap from a bottle of water.
I removed the dead crickets as soon as she moved away from the web. As for the part about the holes and moisture, this is exactly why I posted here. Thanks guys.
@JAG2469 That's a great looking enclosure! Still, I'd add a second ring of airholes and add a water dish, but man, I do like your set up a lot....great wood piece.
I hear you with the air holes but that seems to work pretty good so far there are some bigger ones in the back you can't see if you look under the T in between the two plants on the left there is a water dish covered with moss
