I was given this tarantula for free by someone who doesn’t know much about tarantulas. They told me that it was labeled as a Curly-Hair when they originally bought it, but that doesn’t seem right to me. It is around 2-3 inches and very pleasant & calm.
Bright enough lighting here in this photo to confirm it has the sazimai blues showing unlike the ID me vid posted on FB... As suspected, the dim lighting in that vid shows their natural "red rump" look which has the inexperienced commenting with the ol' "vagans" guesses. Which BtW over the years has become an overdone sarcastic response mocking this common rookie misidentification based solely on coloration, which is probably the most varying or inconsistent trait they have. Thus, any differing of the sorts wouldn't qualify for species separation without any other basis or supportive evidence.
