I had a bit of a tense situation last night during feeding. In the middle of filling this boy's water dish - we lost power. Luckily I didn't douse him with water, or he would have bolted to god knows where. Also luckily, I always have a small flashlight beside me. He didn't move at all.
@MrGhostMantis That was exactly it. I froze instantly and immediately reached for the lid and placed it the best I could. Still, there would have been gaps since I couldn't see. I always have a flashlight with me during feeding, so I can look in burrows and whatnot, and I am so very thankful of that.
Good thing he stayed put.
A other month i accidentally flooded my poor H.Valida mid-molt, glad she made a viewing window for me to see the situation and quickly soak up the water she finished the molt completely problem free though which was great
