Kukulcania Arizonica

I'm pretty sure that's NOT a tarantula at all, or even a Mygalamorph, but an adult female Kukulcania of some sort, probably K. arizonica, though K. hibernalis is found in parts of California now. I breed and keep the latter, so I'm pretty familiar with this genus, and this definately looks like one. They DO look like mini tarantulas, and have a similar temperament to Avicularia avicularia-docile but skittish. Keep them pretty much as you would a small tarantula. Adults can eat full-size crickets with no trouble once they settle down. They're nocturnal, though, and might refuse to feed in the daytime. In spite of their resemblence to tarantulas, these are "true" spiders, albeit very primitive ones.

Ah. Alright. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I began to have my doubts when it built a web. heh
