Sold as a year old "Mexican Flame Leg", but the more I look at things the more I'm not so sure...any info would be awesome! Thanks in advance! Let me know if more photos are needed, I have a few others, but I went with this for a size comparison - as I was transferring "her" into "her" new digs
That's a Brachypelma auratum. And a good example of why common names suck. Its REAL common name is "Mexican Flame KNEE", but the seller changed it to LEG. I would be more likely to think of the Brachypelma boehmei if I heard "Mexican Flame Leg", since the boehmei's common name is "Mexican Fire Leg".

@Moakmeister That's why I was getting confused - I kept finding ones that looked really similar but had different latin names, and for a bit I was thinking maybe it was a Smithi but then I was finding things that said those classifications got changed at one point, and it made me even more confused, lol! And trying to use the common name he gave me resulted in several similar looking ones with slightly different names

@silverhaze269 Which is why common names are trash. ;) Get into the habit of using latin names. They're confusing to learn, but they're the best way to know what you're talking about across the board. And yes, definitely a B. auratum. I have a male and female pair.

I also recommend learning the Latin names. A good way to remember them is to say them a few times, the more you say it the easier it is to remember. Its a lot like learning a language.

Also, I just realized, I doubt she's a year old. She's too big to be a year old. I've never raised this species from slings.

Beautiful fuzzball! Be careful saying Latin names out loud. If you get it wrong you will summon a demon. *trollol*
