Just took this "little girl" in as a foster t. They didn't know what it is, except that it is about 15 years old. I have some ideas what it might be, but I'm not sure. Ideas?
It looks like either a G. porteri or G. rosea AKA Chilean Rose Hair. These are tough to find nowadays as adults. She's lovely!

It looks like a Grammostola porteri and also that enclosure substrate is not ideal for tarantulas.

Also, it would be best to have her on coco fiber substrate instead of wood chips. She'll be much more comfortable and will have the chance to create a burrow like she would in the wild.

In comparing photos, I think G. porteri is likely. MUCH appreciated.
Yes, cleaning cage and putting new bedding right away; this girl arrived an hour ago. I'm using the same stuff I use with my Curly, and used with my G. Pulcra before he died of old age.

They all definitely have their own "personalities". Each of mine has their own little quirks. It's always interesting to see how much each individual can vary, even compared to others of their own species.

It is without question, a G. porteri. Its also likely much older than you expect.
The owner was 2nd owner, had it for about 10 years, and was told it was 5 years old already, so I think it is quite possible she is much more than 17 years old. She is a good size, and I suspect she's heavier than my B. Albo who is about 10 (I've had her since she was 1/4" bought from main Canadian breeder.)
She is now recaged. :)
