Given to me as a Greenbottle Blue - the red rump came through last moult now making me think B. vagans but it has had a blue tint up to this point which is still present on its legs. I was fairly certain it was a Cobalt until this last moult.
Looking on a PC instead of a phone i see it clearer. The hairs on the abdomen and Shiney carapace threw me off. Thrixopelma cyaneolum is probably the best bet. Its a beautiful specimen anyway
@cold blood
Its been in that cricket tub for a good few months now and the only webbing is really from the 3 moults its had in there. It is fairly slow and placid now and just gives a quick flick occasionally if i startle it opening the lid. Quick to take down any food that touches the ground though.
The only thing that has me wondering about cyaneolum is that T. cyano has a big obvious gold mirror patch on its rump, which I don't see here...but it could just be the angle of the picture....is this feature visible in person?
@cold blood thats what I was thinking maybe it's just the lighting or angle the photo was taken.
@_scorpio_ Heres my 0.1 T. cyaneolum for reference. Mine needs a moult the reds have faded. You can see the mirror patch clearly in this photo. View media item 35971
Now that's the mirror patch I was talking about. Funny how much more blue they look when theyre not nearing a molt. Crap pic, but you can still see what I mean OP (for when it next molts).
Im afraid it isnt feeling in the mood to be photographed today lol! bulldozed the substrate in its new tank into a massive pile and has dug into the most awkward place it could. I havent seen this patch yet, does it appear more as they age?
