Sorry this isn't a great picture, but this tarantula was witnessed in Austin Texas. We think it is living in this drain. It is seen nearly every morning, once sited crawls back in the drain, which is why we think it lives there.any idea what kind this is?
I could be wrong, but if it's a wild tarantula then I'm gonna go ahead and say it's an Aphonopelma Chalcodes. As far as I know you can find them in the Sonoran desert of Arizona and in Mexico so they probably live in Texas too.
I dunno, hentzi's or Texas Browns have very dark velvet-like legs and a ashy carapace... Itd be nice if you could get a shot of its body. Then we could let you know without a doubt. I usually have to go to south Texas to find Browns. It could be a few things..
On a serious note I think that image is way to blurry and doesn't let people see all of the T to give any kind of clue to what kind of T that it is. So any suggestions to what kind it is I'd take as a 'maybe' and when you talk to others from what you find out here, state it as a maybe rather then do a majority said 'this' and tell people it's that kind as if it were fact.
@lunarae I guess I kind of understand what you're trying to say? Your sentence just swaps direct and indirect objects. I think you're trying to say what I said? You need a full body shot.(?) I don't know if you said then when you meant than or what was going on there at the end...
