1. Cram it in a tiny container stuffed with wet tissue and no ventilation holes.
2. Send it in a box with loose packing material.
3. Let your customer enjoy their dead tarantula on arrival.
Beautiful S.Wallace killed by awful packaging. Not what I expected from website breeding group.
@Roxy machado I think the container needs to be twice the size? I am not sure if my Ts came I containers with holes. For a 1/4 inch T it was in a small pill bottle. Large enough to have the t fix in the hole in any direction. (3/4-1 inch?) And wet/damp tissue. I forget why, I am thinking it causes a hibernation response? And then the bottles are wrapped in. More tissue. (Paper towel?) And shipped overnight. It should not be a snug fit for the t.. exoticlairs on YouTube has some unboxing video of this method.
@LurkingUnderground I always give any invert I send a decent sized container packed with spagnum moss, so that if they want to they can compact it down and make the right sized chamber. I always use newspaper for packaging around the container too, and put at least 4 ventilation holes in the lid. After sending and receiving a combined total of around 100 inverts Ive never had a death using that method, until recieving this poor tarantula
@LurkingUnderground ive actually unboxed ALOT of T's, i think im addicted to buying them. But put i did have one box a little weird and off. When i mentioned the issues with it, i was told thats the way it should be. And i guess EVERYONE else is doing it wrong. Everything was alive so i can't complain too much
@Roxy machado yep, we all fail every time we thought we sent them "correctly"
I went a bit hard on them and told them I gave them credit for managing to cram such a large spider into a sling sized container. The container in the pic is actually almost touching my hand but just out of focus, that's a bit of insight into how small it was
@RezonantVoid Im sure the lack of air along with the lack of shock absorbing packing materials was what really did her in, being tossed around without any cushion, horrible way to die
