Hogna lenta (Lycosidae): Female

Hogna lenta (Lycosidae): mature female (wild specimen)
@MySpiderJake No, I just released them back where I found them after taking pictures.

I can usually find one or two by going out at night with a flashlight and looking for eye shine. (The big Hogna tend to stand out from the other smaller wolf spiders.)

I tried that method but could only find teeny tiny wolf spiders less than a half inch and none really stood out from the others :\ Probably just need to look more and switch up where I'm looking lol

@The wolf Hogna gets pretty big for a wolf spider. This mature female was 22 mm in body length (not including the legs or palps). The mature male I found was 15 mm in body length, with a smaller abdomen and longer legs relative to his body.

(I don't know what the DLS is, because I only record body length for spiders I submit to BugGuide.)
