Looks like a female. Can you manipulate the little piece between the top set of book lungs that is shaped kind of like a fingernail? You should be able to use a toothpick or similar to lift up a little flap.

Ah sadly I threw the molt already away, this pic is the best I can give. Thanks for thoughts tho, seems like I need to wait for the next molt to be sure
