Help ID!

I live in northern Arizona and right now through Halloween is the annual tarantula migration. I picked up this guy and have him in a terrarium. He's all black except for his rump which is red/rusty color. That's his current size about an inch body without legs. I need to know species and size growth
@Ktbuesa they are instinctive animals and will defend theirselves if they feel necessary. You should be able to see the warning signs prior to getting biteen by this species. Flicking hairs and making threat posture. As @BobBarley says it does depend on the individual T. I do believe wild caught speciemens to be a little more defensive than captive bred. Although, with that said there is always a chance you may obtain one with attitude. A. chalcodes is generally a calm species though.

Tarantula bites will almost always be worse than a bee sting. I still don't know how peae can say that aha. The initial bit can be sore if adult specimen. Tarantula fangs are much bigger than a bees stinger Then depends on how much venom they inject and the possibility of infection too. But as the venom from this sp. is not that strong I reckon the pain wouldnt last long.

Ok so I was just outside looking for a female and walked across my entire property (about 1.5-2 acres and I have t found anything but 2 wolf spiders. Any help on locating a female? I know that traditionally the males are the ones out walking and females usually build the burros and hide. I've searched and searched but can't seem to find any burrows. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Thistles check out his other pics...I think someone is "pinching the babies!" :spitoutdummy:Either that, or he puts off some mysterious "hate me" pheromone that sets off dwarf tarantula when he goes to snap their photos. :bored:
