G pulchra eating a slice of beef

I don't do this often but every once in a while I like giving them a protein rich meal.
I wouldn’t have thought such a large specimen would accept something that isn’t alive and kicking. I was under the impression only slings will scavenge feed.

Right I have to ask n will probably box your head but have you noticed a difference in growth rate of the t's you feed raw meat too? I am 90% sure that t's don't get everything they need minerals and vitamins wise as I have noticed and this may sound daft but when I give my t's volvic (a water in the uk ran through volcanic rock so it has minerals in it ) I get much better growth rates and I think its off the minerals in the water. I have experimented with this and on the months I didn't use volvic, I tried not using it for 5 months, my moults went down by nearly half from the year beforewhen i used volvicon the same months . I keep my temps at a constant 24/25° during the day n every night it goes down to 18° so it shouldn't be anything to do with temps or time of year , so I am convinced its the extra stuff in the water . All t's get the same food a mix of meal worms morio worms crickets and locust so I know it isn't the food but makes me wonder with all the extra minerals in raw meat have you noticed the same thing ?

I made a thread about making Ts grow quicker and yeah the right diet does play an important role. I feed them canned and fresh insects, beef, chicken, and turkey. Plus I make sure to gut load the insects with repashy bug burger and grub pie and they pass the nutrients to the Ts.

The tldr is I been doing it for ages and it's safe in my experience. Just don't do it too often, once a month is good, outside of that I feed insects.
