I'm so excited to have gotten three Euathlus sp. "yellow" slings from Jamie's Tarantulas the brief period they were available last week! =D This one is the littlest of the three, not even having a dark patch of urticating bristles yet.
@viper69 Wow! I hope both the red and yellow species (or localities) become widely established in the hobby. They are such wonderful tarantulas! This was the first time I'd seen the yellow species available and am glad I didn't miss the opportunity! How is yours doing?
@ErinM31 Last time they were available here was about 2 or 3 years, I'd have to check. Mine came from Kelly Swift. He's a MM that is doing great actually.
You and @Trenor need to keep in touch. There's another person who has a few as well. Jamie know's the person.
@viper69 What size was your MM when you got him? I've read that Euathlus are slow-growing; whether they are more or less so than Aphonopelma species, we shall see! Did you have a chance to breed your male?
I definitely will be keeping in touch with @Trenor -- he also has two B. smithi ladies who might hook up with my boy once he matures.
@ErinM31 He was 1/4" he matured in 20 months. I own what I think is a suspect female Red, and its testing my patience a bit. When they are in a growth phase, I don't find them slow growing like people have observed.
