Dorsal sexing?

So I hear that p. Metallica is sexually dimorphic and the females lose their inner dorsal stripe as they get older. Mine is starting to definitely go away but want some opinions. Molt is always too mangled to sex. Thank yoy
My female looks exactly the same although a ventral pic would be way more reliable in terms of sexing.
Metallicas are quite easy to determine ventrally at that size since they have those huge "lips"

Sexual dimorphism (IMO) is unreliable except in species that display VARY different coloring (ex: L. violaceopes, females retain the bright metalic blue while males are usually much smaller and more of an olive green coloring)

Thats if im recalling that species correctly in the example

This cannot be done dorsally. You can however ID genders via the dot method ventraly for all members of this genus. Males have the dot.

Males have a "dot", often a raised region, and different color at times, of the exoskeleton between their anterior book lungs, looks like a pimple. See my profile's media for a dot on my male P. rufi. You can sex a Poki as small as 2", maybe smaller. It's great to know when you are looking at them at herp shows!

Gosh I don't think mine has a dot. I've checked out its molts before but they were mangled but it almost looked female but was hard to tell. I'm gonna have to get it on the glass and snap some pictures when I get home. Thanks for your knowledge! Helps alot and is much appreciated
