The females apparently have the largest eyes of any known spider. The retina in the eye is rebuilt every night because their extreme light sensitivity means that daylight destroys them
@RezonantVoid Maybe it is time for someone who has experience with spiders from Australia to write a guide/book. I think if you had the time.....I bet you could do it! I know I would love to buy a identification book/guide on Australian spiders.
@BCspiderman7 we have a good one by the Australian Museum I think, but as expected they focus mostly on modern spiders. Maybe I'll make a thread about the common genus of primitive spiders we have here, but I think writing a book is a bit beyond me
