Death of a Legend; RIP Stiffler

Found my beautiful old MM Stiffler in undeniable death curl on the 23rd.. measured to 6.2" even DLS and had one sac during his life (661 Spiderlings from Mitzy x Stiffler) and lived a full two years mature. He was my first tarantula. RIP buddy..

If anyone knows how to well preserve tarantulas I'd like to learn. He meant a lot to me

      No, not Stiffler!

@SkittleBunny I'd ask about preservation techniques on the forum.

      So sorry for your loss!

It's great that you got the chance to breed him. Stiffler carries on <3

If you haven't already, put him in the freezer. I'm pretty sure that's the first thing you want to do to prevent decomposition.

@Mirandarachnid yes after the photos i put him in the freezer to preserve him temporarily until we figure something better out.

Two years mature, 651 babies, he lived a good long life. :) I would still be sad though.

To preserve just cut the underside of the adbomen, remove the insides, fill with cotton wool then glue back togeather, you can insert metal wire through the legs for different poses or just let it harden in a natural position.
Not much too it to be honest :)
      RIP
