So I have had this beautiful C. elegans for some time now and she has always molted in a web tube under substrate. She was out the other day but took no food. Now hasn't moved for a few days and was just in place looking normal. Now like this for hours?
She was not responding to my soft paint brush. However she is alive I hope. I looked at here recently and compared to pic and can see that leg position has changed.
She doesnt look dead to me, even in a moist environment a 3 day dead spider would begin curling and looking shriveled. I do agree that it is a bizarre position to hold for such a long time though, but unfortunately theres little to be done regardless of what the cause is. Lets just hope its a very delayed molt
My first T loss in a long time. This one I rarely saw and she came out for a short bit but...
Here is an updated pic. No sign of movement and odd droplet coming out of her. No true death curl....thought? My first loss in a long time makes me bummed out.
Probably the most likely cause. I cant speak from experience though, never had it happen to me or any other keepers i know of down here (with T's anyway)
