@kevinlowl@ErinM31 theres five beetles awake now. The one in the picture and the one that hatched a few hours later are almost fully hardened, but THEY WONT EAT! Ive put a grape, a banana piece, an apple slice, and right now a leaf of lettuce in there, but they won't touch the food.
@Moakmeister That's true, their exoskeleton has to harden first -- I didn't mean to alarm you! Hopefully once they do start to eat they will go for all the produce that you've provided instead. I was just struck by the irony of the photo/thread title.
@Moakmeister I know, just struck by the irony, perhaps especially because I've had difficulty keeping a colony going because pupae are too tempting a snack. I probably need to provide them with more produce but if the oats get moist and nasty that's even worse!
