Aphonopelma chalcodes [ventral sexing]
Female. Clear shot of the epigastric furrow, and plenty of space between the first pair of book lungs. Congratulations!

@Moneo If you want a decent source for future reference in ventrally sexing: http://milehighbugclub.com/Methods for Sexing Tarantulas.htm

Note: That is a merely a general guide, and some species do not adhere to those conventions whatsoever, so it's always a good idea to google your genus and species followed by "ventral sexing." Chances are, someone on here has already had a specimen sexed and you can use that as a very good comparison to your specimen to get an idea of what you might have. But this T is clearly exhibiting female traits so I'm fairly confident in telling you that it's a female tarantula! The epigastric furrow lies along the curvature of the first pair of book lungs, which is usually a good indicator that it's a female. Male's book lungs tend to be closer together as you'll be able to see in that guide.

@Moneo Try and use the guide and look at your photo to see if you can spot the similarities and thus determine the sex as practice! As with all things, the more you do it, the easier it gets.
