@JM1 Although they're commonly called "fishing spiders," many species do not need to be in or near water. They often lie in wait on vertical surfaces, waiting to ambush unsuspecting prey.
I've found D. albineus around the exterior of my house, hunting on the walls or on my garbage cans.
