Tylobolus uncigerus

Got them from bugsincyberspace and they’re absolutely wonderful. Also, tip for anyone considering these- keep handling to a minimum or use gloves. The quinones have compeltely stained my hands so now I have a bunch of dark brown blotches on my hand.
I've had a millipede before, she lived for about 6 months then died abruptly. I still don't know why she died.:(

@RezonantVoid give in to the dark side...you won’t regret them, they make awesome pers but some are more inclined to release those quinones more frequently than others. And some can even release cyanide in the form of an aerosol which is just plain terrifying

@mantisfan101 so do they just do that at random or only when disturbed? Australia gets some pretty large ones and I'd hate if jut out of the blue I get that horrible chemical odour

@RezonantVoid it really depends on the species. Tylobolus are more inclined to produce it while species such as orthoporus or chicobolus(from what I’ve heard) seem to do it less frequently.
