Click beetle

Found in the Davis mountains
These guys are a welcomed sight in areas of Ontario who have issues with Asian Longhorned Beetles. While the adults eat nectar, their larvae eat the larvae of of wood boring insects - especially the family that the ALB comes from. They are introducing them in large quantities in those areas most affected. Unfortunately, I have only ever seen two.
They're fabulous.

Just realized Greasylake is your handle! When I saw it below the picture I thought that was where you spotted the beetle. I was thinking, "where's greasy lake? Sounds like a bad vacation spot."

@Gnarled Gnome nope, I got the name from a Springsteen song, "Sprit in the night."
"Anybody wanna go on up to Greasy Lake?
It's about a mile down on the dark side of route 88"

The beetle was found in the Davis Mountains.
