Cherokia georgiana

Biggest flat I’ve ever found. She’s just shy of 2in”
Wow! That is a really nice specimen; have you been able to keep this species successfully in captivity?

Thanks for sharing,

Keep yes, but I haven’t found enough of one species to breed. I have three separate ones but are same sex

Beautiful creature.

I have a special obsession with Xystodesmids and have a few individuals from Kentucky. So I'm very interested in how you keep these southern species?

Northern* and in cocofiber and a ton of bark. Open their enclosures daily and spray 3 times a week. I lost one after 3 months but he was full size when I found him and he kinda just slowly passed.

That's helpful info about the bark and moisture. What's your temperature range?

Cherokia is a southern genus. Did you collect these up North? If so, don't you think it's more likely Sigmoria (Rudiloria)?

Just room temp so 68-72 I think you may be correct. I find northern and southern species in a particular part of Niagara Falls for some reason

@BuzzSwole, let us know if you manage to breed them and raise the young successfully, as that will be a breakthrough in polydesmid care.

@BCspiderman7, cool find! Yours looks like a Harpaphe haydeniana. Where did you find it?

Thanks,

Arthroverts
