@u bada The thing with Avics, and really a lot of species overall, is that the area can look significantly different when they are freshly moulted versus when some of the setae has rubbed off over time. Also, their weight can make the area look differently - a chubby female can look quite a bit different to a thinner one.
That is why I included the comment that she is freshly moulted, because, not only does she have a full crop of new setae, but she is also thinner than normal.
funny you say this because my one avic sp that just molted, which kept it's molt in its worm hole until it was too late, looked like a male but now since I've been feeding it and been fatter, it's been pretty looking pretty female with more space between book lungs, etc.... here's to the next molt. thanks again!
