Yes, at that size the spermathecae would be bigger and more fused together with Brachypelmas. That's a male. Looks like my B. albopilosum boy (same size):
Regardless of the size of the spermatheca, if one is present then it is a female. If there is no "flap" present, then it's a male. If you're saying yours has a definitive spermatheca flap then it's a female. ANY flap means female...no flap means male. A male wouldn't have a smaller flap..it would not have any flap at all.
