Velvet mites

Or something similar. Collected near a small swampy marsh on a muddy bank. Whatever they are they're cute! Collected about 10 or so.

I collected them in mud, and i placed the clay pieces in the catch cup so i could move them, they got onto the clay and i was able to move them to a small container I've been keeping for a few weeks with some wild moss i collected.
 
Never seen these before. Does the velvet coating make them impervious to water.
 
@Rhino1 i know very little about them myself, but i believe so, at the point of collection it was very swampy, and i would agree the velvet coating plays a roll in their habitat of choice, i would also think they could freely travel on the surface of still or semi still water, although where i was at the standing water was occupied by 1000s of various tadpoles, so any that did choose that route likely got devoured quite quickly.
