We often use "bodylength" in Europe which is about 2.75 inch in this case. If you want legspan, this is double which means legspan is about 5.5 inch.
The seller says that the tarantula is 6-7 years old which seems to be correct referring to the tarantulas size.
@Pasteo age isn't reliable on determining size, since care factors are at play more than time. I'd say female, and if it's truly 5.5'' then it is mature.
@Pasteo I am changing my percentage to 100% female. If the T was a male, he would have died a few years ago. I can’t think of a single male T that lives for 7 years. There might be but I don’t know about it.
@Drea Many thanks. I am a tarantula newbie, but I heard that some males can live up to 3 years after they became adult and they can make more than only one sperm web as long as they live. I cant see any bulbus pedipalps at this tarantula. Of course I hope it is a female and the seller says that the tarantula is 6-7 years old, but I cant check if this is actually true...
@Drea I really dont know. "Liquifin" said with 5.5" legspan it is adult. In summary, yes, the tarantula should be hopefully female and adult. But any opinion is welcome ...
