@cold blood Lol, I thought at first this sling really was nine years old and was wondering how that could be achieved! Yes, Aphonopelma grow slowly, but thankfully not THAT slowly!
@ErinM31 Yeah, it was just a humorous exaggeration...you would know exactly how old. They all went literally 5 months in pre molt before molting the past few months. They eat well, but don't seem to be in a hurry to molt ever.
@cold blood Yeah, all of my Aphonopelma fast four to six months of winter before finally molting in the spring. Molts come more frequently over spring and summer but the reputation of this genus is well-earned! I laugh when I see Brachypelma referees to as slow-growing!
@ErinM31 Yeah, the only t ive had that grew slower *or maybe as slow) was B. albiceps...all other brachys grew like genics compared to chalcodes...haha
