0.1 H. himalayana Freshly Molted
Miku is closely around to 3.5'' now. Slowly approaching sub-adult, but my goodness. She's such a beauty. :)
What a stunning tarantula! :astonished: I don’t recall seeing this species before. What are they like?

@ErinM31 Basically pet webs/holes, but they do come out somewhat often. They're fast and skittish and their max size is around 5''. Mines is a decent eater, but sometimes refuse to eat a bit. They don't get spooked to easily like other OW (or at least mines is like this). When I open the enclosure she still stay out sometimes, which is awesome. Are they fun to keep? Yes. But do I see it often? Only at night or when it's very calm and quiet.

@letranger Close but not ready. This species are mature at 4'' and she is just pushing at 3.5''. So definitely not ready to breed. I'd say about 1 or 2 more molts before she is ready for breeding. As this species max out at 5'' which 4'' is the maturity size for breeding this species. So there is still some time left before breeding.

judging if spider is adult by its size is not a good idea, because a lot of them reach maturity before they are fully grown and also good amount of spiders never reach max size known for that particular species

dont hold your breath for 12.5 cm (5inch) size, as they very rarely,if ever, get that big

beautiful, wow. Been thinking about this one, how long from sling do they start to show pattern/colors?
