This is a tarantula I take care of at a sanctuary - they have it listed as Mexican Red Rump B. vagans. Looking for confirmation of this or leads as to what it could be, it is very dark!
@edie Oh, why did I think the girl with the sores was a Brachypelma hamorii (formerly smithi)? Sorry, my mistake. She is looking very dull at the moment, maybe she will moult shortly.
A t was brought into a shop i frequently visit and it looked like this t, the person who surrendered it was a middle school teacher who had kept it in his class for 2 decades. He had no recollection of species, we thought it was a B.vagans hybrid until someone suggested it may be Aphonopelma serratum. The specimen we were working was also much more calm than B.vagans in my experience. Further pushing the suspicion that it may be an aphonopelma.
