I'm thinking of adding containers with moist substrate, and a heat mat rigged with a thermostat underneath it. I have to spend quite a bit each month on crickets and would be quite beneficial to breed them myself
Not a bad housing set up but you'll need a small container filled with moist subrate in there for them to lay eggs in. I made mine with a Tupperware containers and some metal screen over top. The substrate needs to be touching the top so they can deposit eggs through the screen with their ovipositer. You'll also need another container to put the egg box in to hatch the young so they aren't cannibalized by the adults. Keep adults warm and keep the young warm and a bit more moist because they can dehydrate quickly. Also it is good to make 2 egg boxes so you can have one in while the other is hatching so you get constant production. I hope that helps. Good luck with them!!
