Rear horn baboon?
This girl was sold to me as a Ceratogyrus darlingi but her hat has always molted out straight? Or straight ish. Sometimes it has a bit of a wiggle to it, but never pointed backwards. What is the best way to tell horned species apart?
That’s Ceratogyrus marshalli :)

Darlingi has single ventral band, marshalli has double ventral band.

The horns are pretty different in adult specimens.

Marshalli also tends to have a more ‘starburst’ carapace.

!! Awesome!! I did notice she had a very wide white band on her ventral. It covers both sets of book lungs, I assume that’s what you mean by double?

Yes she is female and a pretty decent size! Do the males grow out differently?

:0 ooh! Very interesting! I have a 1” sling Marshalli, I’ll keep that in mind as they grow
