Counter-shading on Trapdoors?

I noticed with my biggest Arbanitis sp. specimen, the gold shine is only visible from the front, not any angle viewed from the rear of the spider or above. Maybe this is to make it harder to see it when foraging but to confuse predators when it goes into threat stance with flashy, golden hues
Ok so, I was under the impression that trapdoors are rather temperamental. Is this one rather docile or are you ok with handling them? Just curious.
 
@lostbrane bit of both. This specimen is particularly docile but generally species from the same family (Idiopidae) are VERY aggressive. I'm also not intimidated by them as they have harmless venom and never ever strike, only slap with their feet. This was also just a rehouse so I don't handle too regularly
