so, my sweet baby, G. pulchra molted January 15th, and her abdomen has gotten just huge, but she was still eating... I know that this species is very slow growing, but I am scared to keep feeding her bc she looks like she is going to molt but never does... any advice??
Stop feeding . Honestly, my 2" G. pulchra needed 2 full years between the last two molts, so I'd really stop feeding at this point - for however long it takes.
@boina Oh wow, 2 years! Mine hit the 2” mark a few months ago and is also getting fat..I better slow down the feedings in case mine takes years to molt again. I find it hard to resist since pulchras just seem to enjoy food so much.
@Ungoliant I know right!! When I do my weekly feeding of all my T's I catch myself everytime almost feeding her! I think they all know when feeding day is, they all get into predator mode, and she tries to as well. Little fattie haha
@boina Thank you for the advice! After I stopped feeding she has begun to dig a diagonal slope in one corner of her critter keeper. I think not feeding her has helped start to get better ready to molt. Yesterday There was a clump of dirt at the front of the cage that looked like a mushed up molt and I was confused because I was thinking how in the world are you still this fat?! But then I realized it was just substrate haha
